Combined Engineering Services Examination 2009 of UPSC – Notification

Introduction:

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) notifies for Combined Engineering Services Examination 2009. Engineering Services Exam is conducted for recruitment to the four categories of engineering services: 

(a) Civil Engineering 

(b) Mechanical Engineering 

(c) Electrical Engineering and 

(d) Electronics & telecommunication Engineering

Posts:

Indian Railway Service of Engineers

Indian Railway Stores Service 

Central Engineering Service

Military Engineer Services 

Survey of India Service

Indian Ordnance Factories Service 

Indian Naval Armament Service

Central Power Engineering Service and several other services.

Age:

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 1st August, 2009. The Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice. 

Educational Qualification:

A candidate must hold a Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Provided that a candidate applying for the posts of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Engineer Group ‘A’ in Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing/ Monitoring Organization may possess M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject. 

Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Engineering Services Examination, 2009 as per Regulations given in Appendix -II of Rules for Examination published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 10th January, 2009.

How to Apply:

The Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty) only by hand or by Post / Speed Post or by Courier to the address listed below. 

Fee:

Rs..100/- (Rupees One hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee.)

 

Dates to remember: 

Last date of submission of application: 02/09/09

Last date of submission of application from Remote Area Candidates: 02/16/09

Dates of Exam: 06/06/09 onwards
