Master of Business Administration Admission 2009 – GITAM Institute of International Business – Visakhapatnam
Introduction: The two-year full-time Programme in International Business is designed to empower students to become successful business professionals in the challenging global scenario. In an age of blurred geographical frontiers, the programme offers practical insights into the international dimension of every business function. The curriculum and teaching methodology are not limited to knowledge acquisition. The emphasis lies equally on developing value-based conduct, emotional maturity, analytical ability, cross-functional capability and leadership skills. Students leave the portals of GITAM Institute of International Business ready to take on the world.
Objectives:
* To enable its graduates to become effective managers anywhere in today’s globally competitive environment.
* To equip them with the skills necessary to operate effectively in a multicultural environment and to adapt quickly to changing social, political, legal and economic conditions.
* To vest them with special skills to work in international trade and business.
* To prepare them as entrepreneurial managers for creating and managing enterprises in international business.
Eligibility: Domestic Candidates
1. Graduates in the 10 + 2 + 3 stream in any discipline, from any University, recognized by Association of Indian Universities, with a minimum of 50% marks, in the qualifying Degree examination. Those awaiting results of their final year Degree examinations may also apply provided they can submit the proof of graduation, by 30th September, 2008 and satisfy the minimum 50% criteria.
2. Appearance in CAT-2007 / XAT-2008 / IIFT-2007 / MAT- (2nd September 2007 or 2nd December 2007 or 3rd February 2008) / GET-2008 / latest GMAT Entrance tests.
Foreign / NRI Candidates: Foreign / NRI candidates, fulfilling the educational eligibility criteria and appearance in the specified entrance tests, as mentioned for the domestic candidates, can also apply to this Programme.
Admission Procedure: GITAM Institute of International Business Brochure (including application form) will be available from 26th September, 2007 onwards. The Application Form and Brochure can be obtained in person at GITAM Institute of International Business, Visakhapatnam or select centers of IMS in India, by paying Rs 1000/- in cash. The Application Form and Brochure can be obtained by Post from GITAM Institute of International Business by sending a DD for Rs 1000/-. The Application Form can also be downloaded from the Institute’s website and submitted, duly filled-in, with a DD of Rs 1,000/- or Rs 1,500/-(inclusive of GET-2008 fee). The candidates who wish to apply for GET-08 should send a DD for Rs 500/- along with the duly filled in application.
Candidates, who have appeared in more than one entrance test, may apply with all the regn. numbers / score cards in a single application. Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “GITAM Institute of International Business”, payable at Visakhapatnam. Dully filled in Applications have to reach GITAM Institute of International Business on or before the last date with the following enclosures:
Two self addressed envelopes
Photostat copies of Marks statements and pass certificates
Photostat copies of Score Card/Admit Card of the Entrance Test
Demand Draft in the case of candidates applying for GET-08 and those using downloaded application.
Selection Procedure: Applicants are short-listed on the basis of CAT (18th November 2007) / IIFT (25th November 2007) / XAT (6th January 2008) / MAT (2nd September 2007 or 2nd December 2007 or 3rd February 2008) / GET-08 (16th March 2008) / GMAT Test scores for Essay Writing, Case Analysis, Group Discussion & Personal interview. Final selection is based on aggregate of the best Test Score, and scores in Essay Writing, Case Analysis, GD and PI.
