8th International Conference on Natural Language Processing (ICON 2010) at International Institute of Information Technology, Kharagpur
Introduction : The ICON conference series is a forum for promoting interaction among researchers in the field of Natural Language Processing in India and abroad. The conference will be preceded by a day of pre-conference tutorials on December 8, 2010.
Topics : Papers are invited on substantial, original and unpublished research on all aspects of Natural Language Processing, with a particular focus on languages, issues, and applications relevant to India. Authors must mark the topic of their paper at the time of submission categories.
Conference Date & Venue : The 8th International Conference on Natural Language Processing (ICON 2010) will be held at IIT Kharagpur, India, during 8-11 December, 2010.
Area of Interest : The areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
Morphology / POS tagging / Phonology / Parsing / Syntax / Word Sense Disambiguation / Semantics / Machine / Translation / Discourse / Information Retrieval / Pragmatics / Text Summarization / Statistical Methods / Question Answering / Knowledge-Based methods / Dialog Systems / Annotated Corpora / Performance Evaluation / Lexical Resources / Speech Corpora / Ontology / Speech Recognition / Speech Synthesis.
Categories : Authors have to submit the papers under any one of the following categories:
o Theoretical Linguistics
o Theoretical computational linguistics
o Empirical/data-driven approaches
o Paradigms/techniques/strategies
o Resources and evaluation
o Applications/systems
Abstract Submission : Papers in English, not exceeding 10 pages, should be submitted at www.iiit.ac.in/icon2010. One can also submit hard copies (four copies) under special circumstances. Papers should include an abstract of about 100-200 words. Papers outside the specified length are subject to rejection without review.
