Technology Conference 2010 – University of Illinois Research Park – USA
Introduction: Welcome to the website of the International Conference on Technology, Knowledge and Society. In 2010, the Conference will be held at Free University Berlin, Germany from 15-17 January 2010.
This Conference will address a range of critically important themes in the various fields that address the complex and subtle relationships between technology, knowledge and society. Plenary speakers include some of the leading thinkers in these areas, as well as numerous paper, colloquium and workshop presentations.
The Technology Conference is a participants’ Conference. Participants are welcome to submit a presentation proposal either for a 30-minute paper, 60-minute workshop, a jointly presented 90-minute colloquium session. Parallel sessions are loosely grouped into streams reflecting different perspectives or disciplines. Each stream also has its own talking circle, a forum for focused discussion of issues. For those unable to attend the Conference in person, virtual participation is also available.
Abstract Submission: You may submit a proposal to the Conference Review Committee for an In-Person presentation, or a Virtual paper at the Technology Conference. If your Conference proposal is accepted you may submit a written paper to The International Journal of Technology, Knowledge and Society. All proposals, presentations and papers must be in English.
Submission Deadline: The deadline for the current round in the Call for Papers is 12 November 2009. Please return to this page after this date for subsequent rounds and deadlines in the Call for Papers. Proposals received during earlier rounds, when accompanied by a paid registration, will be given scheduling priority.
Group Registration:Â The Group Registration Rate of $US400 per person, is available for five (5) or more participants from the same institution/organisation, registering at the same time. This discount cannot be combined with any other discounted rate. Please download and complete the Group Registration Form (Word document); attach the completed form to an email; and send the email with attachment to the address at the top of the form.
