Textile / Interior / Fashion Design Admission 2010 at National Institute of Fashion Designing, Orissa
Introduction : National Institute of Fashion Designing was established in the year 2002. Within a short span of time, the institute acquired tremendous growth and popularity and considering its benevolent output the Government of Orissa recognised it as regular academic institute and the Utkal University of Culture bestowed an affiliation to offer Degree courses in all three prime disciplines viz. Fashion Design, Interior Design and Textile Design.
Eligibility : For Pofesional / Certificate Courses candidate should be atleast 10th pas from any recognized Board.
For Degree: – 3 years program.
Passed +2 in any stream or equivalent from any recognized Board/Council/University.
Fashion Designing : Fashion is a manner of weaving, style and carrying yourself in a comfortable way. It has been accepted by a substantial group of people at given time and place. Not only clothes but also about accessories, fashion changes ones personality and attitude and one becomes more confident. The fashion design course sharpens the creativity of the students ad equips them with technical knowledge required for success in this glamorous field and promises to make the students real professionals having an integrated personality at par with global requirements. This also gives them exciting opportunities in fashion design, fashion coordination, client servicing, marketing and merchandizing. They also get opportunities for furnishing in manufacturing and export units.
Textile Design : Textile design is a part of fashion. It deals with weaving process and various technical aspects such as fabric screen printing. Batik, Bandha blocks printed and woven design keeping in view the technical requirements which the industry demands and create exciting opportunities in textile industries, export houses, manufacturing units etc. Textile manufacturers are in high demand by all the manufacturers and export houses, as India is one of the largest textile manufacturing and export nation.
Interior Designing : Interior design is a vast discipline covering numerous aspects of designing such as landscaping, climatology, building services, vaastu, fengshui, furniture design, lighting, electrical etc. Not only is Interior design restricted to residential but also commercial spaces. A successful design is the product of mastermind’s creativity. Interior design study helps in creating synergies between the aspects of beauty and utility. The course aims at involving creative solutions for assimilation of diverse elements of interiors such as furniture, lighting, shading, materials etc. If one has the inclination and passion to create comfortable and inspiring environments that people will admire, then there is opportunity to free ones talent and create a world of his own by learning Architect-cum-Interior Designing.
Internships : Students choose a challenging project, which they organise themselves and realise in their extra-curricular time. Thus, they practice projects that require initiative, creativity, leadership and responsibility. The challenge for the students lies in self organising their projects. Bearing a member of the community is hard work but the reward is immense. It gives them experience of a lifetime. Internship gives students the chance to build their own traditions and implement their ideas. Everyone contributes to a strong network and make the internship a form and enjoyable experience. During the period they put into practice the theoretical knowledge gained during the degree course.
Admission Procedure : Applications for admission to the courses program are considered by the Admissions Committee using Criteria which reflect the management focus of the program and its objective of developing the future leadership of the fashion industry.
