About PMAS-AAUR : The University includes a Faculty of Crop and Food Sciences, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Forestry, Range Management and Wildlife, Directorate of Advance Studies and Research, the University Institute of Management Sciences (UIMS), University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT) and Division of Continuing Education, Home Economics and Women Development. The University offers a number of degree programmes leading to Bachelor, Master and PhD in various disciplines.
Introduction : Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission to the Ph.D Programme in the following disciplines for the Spring Semester 2011:-

Economics/Agricultural Economics
Forestry & Range Management
Environmental Sciences
Wildlife Management
Agronomy
Entomology
Food Technology
Horticulture
Plant Pathology
Soil Science
Eligibility : M.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture or M.Phil alongwith thesis with 3.00/4.00 CGPA in the relevant discipline. NTS – GAT subject Test (GRE type) is compulsory for Bio-Chemistry, Zoology, Economics/Agricultural Economics and Environmental Sciences, Agronomy, Entomology, Food Technology, Horticulture, Plant Pathology & Soil Science with 50% pass marks for admission in Ph.D. The applications must be accompanied by comprehensive project proposal.

Admission Procedure : Admission to most of the degree programs are generally undertaken in the months of September-August each year. After the completion of admissions the classes generally start in the beginning of October each year. Admissions to certain diploma , certificate and other academic programs may be made according to a different time schedule. Due to additional time required for procedural matters the foreign students are advised to start the process of applying for admission well in advance.
Selection Criteria : Applicants who fulfill all the requirements for admission and demonstrate the strongest academic preparation as measured by comprehensive merit will be selected for admission. They must be domiciled in the Punjab , except for admission on reserved provincial seats. Disciplinary suspension or dismissal from a previous educational institute will lead to rejection of admission. The students are not allowed to enroll different programmes simultaneously.
