VINIMAY’09 – Crack-A-Case- the case study competition

Introduction:

Vinimay 2009, the Annual Consulting Symposium of SPJIMR aims to bring together Students, Consultants and Industrialists and provide a platform to discuss and brainstorm on strategies to deal with current issues. ‘Vinimay’ in Sanskrit means ‘Conversation’, standing for the importance of an informed and constructive dialogue bringing about an exposure to the world of consulting for students through a series of inclusive discussions and guest speakers.Vinimay 2009 promises to be another stimulating edition this year with the top consultants and industry big-wigs pooling their knowledge in MindSpeak and Retrospectrum to come up with possible strategies to solve the problemsVinimay is also bigger and grander with Crack-A-Case- the case study competition opened to the best B-Schools in collaboration with Avalon Consulting as the Knowledge Partners.

The theme for this edition of Vinimay is:    

“Strategies to Sail through the Economic Maelstrom”

Rules and Regulation:

1. Registration in teams of two (students must be of the same B-School)

2. Multiple entries from the same college are allowed

3. The submission should be in a .doc format (Word 97-2003 Compatible) or .pdf format with Font: Times New Roman (Size 11) and Line spacing of 1.5. Maximum Page Limit: 12 pages

4. The teams are expected to send their analysis of the case to consultingcom@spjimr.org during the elimination round

5. The team name, participant names, addresses, e-mail IDs and telephone numbers of the team members should be mentioned explicitly in the submission e-mail as well as the cover page(not included in 12 pages) of the document. No detail should be mentioned anywhere else in the document.

The subject of the e-mail submission should be Crack a Case_<Team Name>_<College

6. Registration opens on 12th December ,2008 and closes on 22nd December 2008 at 23:59.

7. Case Release: 16th of December,2008.

Case Submission Deadline: 4th January 2009 at 23:59

8. Top Participants to be selected for Final Presentations during Vinimay on January 16th, 2009

9. Selected finalists would be reimbursed 3rd AC train fare (to and fro). The reimbursement would be for the shortest route between the participants’ institute and Mumbai on presenting the copy of tickets.

10. Accommodation will NOT be provided to the finalists.
