Introduction: The one year full time Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) is uniquely designed to deliver Customer-Centricity, Meritocracy and Corporate Ethics in one year. It facilitates students to understand the interactions between the various functional areas of a business system and thereby appreciate the need for developing cross-functional perspectives in business. This highly intensive program demands a high caliber of students, with a proven record of academic brilliance along with an ability to demonstrate vision, initiative, leadership and hard work.
The PGPM course will meet the emerging trends in imparting management skills to the students and help them in making value enhancing decisions.
The knowledge imparted through the program will help students address issues in their organizations and arrive at value-enhancing decisions. Great Lakes Institute of Management works in close partnership with the industry in shaping the curriculum. The curriculum is reviewed periodically to keep it in sync with the needs of an ever-changing and evolving market place.
Program Description: The Post Graduate Program in Management has been designed by the Academic Advisory Council, which comprises the best in the world of managerial academia. This in turn has been streamlined with inputs from the Institute’s illustrious Business Advisory Council, to keep it in sync with the needs of an ever changing market place. This program is designed to equip a student to respond to the complex business requirements that arise in a changing global business environment. The Post Graduate Program offered at Great Lakes Institute of Management is a fast-track program of one year divided into 7 terms. At a high level the curriculum is divided into the following components: Induction/Core Courses/Specialization/Other Activities.
Eligibility:
* All applicants are required to take GMAT/CAT before applying to Great Lakes Institute of Management.
* For PGPM 2010-2011, Great Lakes Institute of Management will accept CAT scores of the years 2008 and 2009 only. Similarly, GMAT scores older than 2007 will not be accepted.
* All applicants should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
* Full time work experience of minimum two years is desirable.
* Outstanding graduates with less than two years of experience would be considered on a case to case basis.
Evaluation Procedure: Applicants for admission are evaluated based on GMAT/CAT (2008 and 2009) score, past academic performance, essays and letters of recommendation, and performance in the interview and group discussion. Letters of recommendation are required to be submitted online along with the application. Recommendations should be from professionals and superiors with substantial work experience.
Pedagogy: The curriculum and pedagogy emphasize on the development of student’s skills and ability to apply management theories and concepts to real time problems in business. The teaching methods include lectures, case studies, group discussions, business games, role-plays, seminars and group work. The program integrates the use of latest technology available in imparting the various principles of management.
People skills are the foundation upon which management education rests and ironically can never be taught in classrooms. The program gives students the opportunity to develop their interpersonal and leadership skills by working in groups and taking challenges head on.

* Download the application form from the link given, fill it up in all respects, and send the application with all required enclosures to Great Lakes along with payment for INR 1000. If you do not have valid CAT/GMAT score then there is additional fee of INR 500/- for the PGWPM written test.
* The Demand Draft to be taken is drawn in favor of ‘Great Lakes Institute of Management’ payable at Chennai.
* The recommender’s letters [2 nos] should be attached in closed envelopes and each letter should clearly mention the contact number and e-mail ID of the recommender.

* A digital photograph not exceeding 1MB in size, and which should fit in the frame provided in the application form
