The Moral Challenge for Young Leaders -The Mindful Leadership Contest 2010
Introduction: Innovation is the life-blood of a successful story. Innovation holds the key to overcome adversity and impending danger. Without a sustainability culture, development would be derailed in a world of scarce resources and looming ecological crisis. India is a vibrant nation with more than 500 million youth gifted with energy, resources and high potential. The seventh, eighth and ninth principles of the United Nations Global Compact suggest that businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges, undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility and encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
This is the third national competition for full-time undergraduate and graduate students. The contest will take place in three stages. The Students are first invited to make individual entries online along with an essay on the topic comprising of 1000-1500 words.
Awards: Winner of the competition will get a fully-paid trip to the University of Dayton, Ohio, USA in June 2010 to participate in BEST (Business, Engineering, Science and Technology). Other take aways include a Fully-paid trip to LIBA to attend Mother Teresa Award Function in March 2010. Mindful Leadership Rolling Trophy – for the first winner’s institution. Cash prizes…and more.
Rules and Regulations: Rules and Regulations Guidelines for the Mindful Leadership Competition – 2010 “Innovating for a Sustainable World” – The moral challenge for Young Leaders is set on the Seventh, Eight and Ninth Principle of Sustainable Development of the United Nations Global Compact, the competition provides a platform for students to discuss issues faced by leaders globally. This competition is open to all full-time bona fide undergraduate and graduate students of accredited education institute, college or University. The essay should be originally written for the competition and should avoid any form of plagiarism.
Important Dates:
17th January, 2010 – First Submission of 1000 – 1500 words
25th January, 2010 – Announcement of 25 selected entries
05th February, 2010 – Final Submission of 3000 – 3500 words
08th February, 2010 – Announcement of 10 Finalists
22nd February, 2010 – Mindful Leadership Finals in LIBA
Deadline: The last date for submission of your 1000-1500 word essay is January 17, 2010.
